EndCoronavirus (Volunteer)

(2020)
Background:I worked as a volunteer graphic designer for EndCoronavirus.org, a global network of scientists and volunteers that provide information, guidelines, and policy advocacy to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Problem:Early in the pandemic, EndCoronavirus was focused on educating the public about the importance of quickly containing the pandemic. They needed an illustration with messaging that conveyed the benefit of limiting viral spread and the steps people could follow to do this.
Solution:Working with lead EndCoronavirus scientists, I created an illustration urging people to "crush the curve". I designed a graph that shows how early adoption of strict mitigation measures dramatically reduces caseloads and ends the pandemic early compared to less strict or no measures. I crafted succinct and motivational messaging. The illustration is compelling and easy to understand at a glance.
Result:My graphic has been featured on the EndCoronavirus website home page since early 2020, shared on EndCoronavirus's social media, and reshared many times by other social media accounts.
